Delivering an Electronic Health Record Solution for Emergency Care through our Healthcare Experience Design approach.

The challenge: Redesigning a time consuming paper-based process for Emergency Care

Our client, a Multinational Hospital Group, tasked us with redesigning the Emergency Room systems and processes as part of their digital transformation and process optimisation drive. Their emergency department was mostly paper based, and there were process inefficiencies and lack of adherence to procedure, which is a massive risk in the medical industry.

The solution: A patient- and provider-centric tablet app to digitally transform the Triage experience

This digital Electronic Health Record App was designed using our unique Patient and Provider Centric Design approach. We re-imagined what the experience could be for the patients, the nurses and the doctors in the Emergency Room through Service Design, and defined the new processes and digital technology through a user-centered design approach. It resulted in the elimination of paper-based records for Triage, improved compliance and tracking and drastically reduced the time taken to conduct Triage on a patient. *
